Comedian/Actor/Writer John Lynn joins Jarlath to explain his narrow escape from death when he was at the cusp of a huge break in his career. John tells the fascinating story of the day in which he had a near-fatal collapse in public and how it caught him completely off-guard (4:00). As a consequence of his prolonged recovery time, John lost out on massive professional opportunities (22:00). He explains how the deterioration in his mental health resulted in him losing trust in his own mind and a darkly hilarious incident where he was escorted off of the premises of a primary school (24:00).
Having fallen out more than ten years ago, this conversation proves to be a platform for resolution between Jarlath and John. They pull apart what happened between them and admit to their own stupidity in allowing a resentment to grow (45:00). From the importance of not letting your mind become your bully (1:00:00) to John’s moment of madness in a London park (15:00) and much more, this is a powerful and hilarious conversation about honesty, friendship and mental health.
