Holistic coach, author and speaker Meredith Miller has studied narcissism for years. She defines narcissistic personality disorder as a disorder of the conscience. People with strong narcissistic traits control people around them and is incapable of feeling empathy or remorse. It can really confuse and even crush people with a well-functioning conscience. She observes how narcissistic traits are becoming more and more common, and describes it as a pandemic of narcissism. In this episode, she explains the cycle of narcissistic abuse and why most people support the narcissist – rather than standing up for the victim. Miller shows how the Covid-situation is an example of narcissistic abuse. People were isolated from each other, those who saw through the lies were gaslit and the goal post was moved again and again, so people had to take jab after jab to hope to go back to normal. She describes it as reactive abuse, where people's feelings were stirred up through extreme fear mongering. The war in Ukraine, Israel/Gaza and the climate change narrative are other examples of reactive abuse, moving people out of balance emotionally.
