Hello and welcome to the 28th episode of the podcast. In this episode we take a look at the recent release of the sci-fi film Life and the classic film is The Godfather.

First up is the science fiction film, Life. The film follows a group of astronauts on the International Space Station who retrieve a space probe carrying soil samples from Mars. Within the sample they find the first evidence of extraterrestrial life. They manage to reanimate this lifeform and the film follows the events that follow. Life is directed by Daniel Espinosa and was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. The film stars Jake Gyllenhall, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds, Ariyon Bakare, Olga Dihovichnaya and Hiroyuki Sanada.

This episode's classic film is The Godfather, which is highly acclaimed and regarded by many as one of the best films ever. The film follows the Corleone mafia family in a cycle of crime and violence as Don Vito's reign ends and his youngest son, Michael, takes over. The film is based on Mario Puzo's novel of the same name and he wrote the screenplay along with Francis Ford Coppola, who also directed the film. The film stars Marlon Brando as the titular Godfather, Don Vito Corleone, and Al Pacino stars as his youngest son, Michael. Other stars include James Caan, Robert Duval, Richard S Castellano, Talia Shire et al. The film was released in 1972, making this its 45th anniversary year.
