Hello and welcome to the 29th edition of the main podcast. In this episode we take a look at the cinema release of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 and the classic Film The Graduate.

First up is the latest Marvel cinema release, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Directed by James Gunn, who also had a writing credit, the film stars the main cast from the first film, namely Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and the voices of Bradley Cooper (Rocket) and Vin Diesel (Groot). There were some additional star power provided by Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stalone. The film has the backing of Awesome Mix 2 throughout and concentrates on Peter Quill's parentage.

This episode's classic film is The Graduate. Released in 1968, the film was directed by Mike Nichols, written by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry, and features a soundtrack by Simon and Garfunkel. The film starred Dustin Hoffman as the titular graduate, Ann Bancroft, Katherine Ross, William Daniels and Murray Hamilton. The film follows a recent graduate, Ben, who returns to the family home where he is soon seduced by the wife of his father's business partner and family friend. Things become complicated when Ben is encouraged to ask out the daughter of said mistress and family friend.

Our next episode will be a director special looking at the work of Quentin Tarantino.
