This tour of Fells Point Historic Trail is created by The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA), which promotes, preserves, and enhances Baltimore's historic and cultural legacy and natural resources for current and future generations. A walking tour of this and other destinations is available at www.explorebaltimore.org/tours. Located at 1600 Shakespeare Street Transcript: The meticulously kept brick home on your right belonged to Anne Bond Fell. She married her cousin, Colonel Edward Fell, whose tomb you just visited. Anne was a sharp woman. She ran her own business at a time when women had few rights. When this house was built around 1765, Shakespeare Street wasn't really a street. This was all farmland, so the home was freestanding. Anne and Edward expanded the house and built it into a magnificent mansion, although there is some speculation that it was used at one time as a slave quarters or as a kitchen for the Fell estate.
