One of THE most buzzed about shows of the last decade was Tiger King and one of THE most buzzed about women of the last decade was Carole Baskin. These are facts. Today, Carole is here to dispel the many myths created as a result of that viral Netflix show regarding herself, her one time husband Don Lewis, his disappearance, and just what Big Cats have to do with all of it. Carole chats about life back in the day before Tiger King when she was just a woman married to a man together running Big Cat Rescue, a not for profit organization dedicated to Big Cat rescue, rights and activism. Of course, there was also Joe Exotic, owner of a “different type” of Big Cat organization who didn’t exactly see eye to eye with Carole. One day Netflix came calling and voila, the rest is history. Carole is very vocal here today about how she feels the finished product of Tiger King is not what she signed up for. Carole also opens up about what it is like to be the woman who is the subject of endless on line memes and chatter suggesting she killed her husband and fed him to the Big Cats and what living with such strict public scrutiny is like. We chat with Carole about the many misconceptions surrounding her public persona and answer just “who is Carole Baskin”, the woman behind all of the tabloid fodder. Carole breaks down topics such as fame and the quick education she received in handling the media. Of course, we pay homage to her star studded appearance on Dancing With The Stars, her premiere dance of course set to Survivor’s “Eye of The Tiger”. Carole discusses Joe Exotic’s guilty verdict for allegedly attempting to hire a hitman to kill her and his resulting 22 year sentence. She also discussed his recent claims of Prostate Cancer and ongoing petition to be released. Of course, we had to ask what would she say to Joe if she saw him today, what are her favorite of the Big Cats, all that talk about a Tiger King 2 and will she be involved, and just what is next for the woman behind the flower headband.
