Gender selection is a medical procedure which is essentially a screening which allows IVF embryos to be tested for gender-related genetic conditions, before being placed in the womb. The main aim of the test is to make sure only the healthiest embryos are implanted into the mum's womb. But these days, women are using the same procedure to choose the gender of their unborn children.

Due to its controversial nature, it is illegal in the UK and certainly a topic for the podcast.
