If you have a loved one struggling with addiction, you almost certainly struggle with knowing when and how much to trust them. Even if they've been sober for awhile, trust takes a long time to rebuild.
In today's show, Jim tackles the issue from the family's point of view as well as the addict's point of view. He talks about why he was actually scared of being sober (6:32) and how long it took his family to trust him again.
We also discuss:
11:07 How former addicts can fight being over confident
18:50 How you can disciple loved ones in addiction
21:42 How grace, patience and understanding are critical for both former addicts and those that love them
