Join Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink (aka Cody and Dan) as they go #beyondFLG with Jason Costello, the founder and CEO of Canyon Coolers (@canyoncoolers). Jason, like many other well-intentioned folks, found himself in Flagstaff, AZ in the early 1990’s when starting college at the Harvard of the West (NAU). Following his degree, he worked in a variety of settings and somehow, someway, found himself in the domain of slinging coolers. In 2010, he founded Canyon Coolers and a few years later, he went all in with the business. Since then, Canyon Coolers has won a variety of awards and remains as one of the top products when compared to its competitors for ice retention. Canyon Coolers offers a lifetime, hassle-free warranty and identify their value of relationships as the reason for this warranty. Stay tuned to learn whether it is or is not also a conflict avoidance strategy. Lastly, Jason shares a deep connection to the community of Flagstaff as his company has partnered with local artists Ashley Matelski (@ashleymatelskiart) and Duane Koyawena (@dwayne_koyawena_arts). Canyon anticipates partnering with Arizona Game & Fish and seeks to continue building relationships with the FLG and surrounding communities. Jason also describes a history of varied FLG community partners or relationships including the Flagstaff Snow Park (@flagsnowpark), Artisan Metal Works (@artisan_metal_works), The Flagstaff Hullabaloo (@flagstaff_hullabaloo), and MotherRoad Brewing Company (@motherroadbeer). It is evident that Canyon is a piece of the fabric of FLG and Jason's approach to life has contributed to its role in the area. Stay tuned to learn the details about how Jason founded Canyon Coolers, the company’s evolution over time, and various stories showing ways that all good things start with a bad idea.
