An historic win for Artur Beterbiev to become undisputed at light heavyweight champion is the big topic on a brand new "Fight Freaks Unite Recap Podcast!"
Host T.J. Rives returns with insider Dan Rafael of his Fight Freaks Unite Substack and Email newsletter to give their thoughts on the unified WBC/IBF/WBO champ Beterbiev winning by 12 round decision of WBA Dmitry Bivol on Saudi Arabia.
Was the decision warranted and how did Dan score the bout? Will there be a rematch and more is discussed. The guys also go over the undercard that saw British heavyweight Fabio Wardley score a massive KO, IBF Cruiserweight champ Jai Opetaia impressive with a KO defense. And, they also talk the other bouts from Saudi Arabia.
Dan then goes OFF on how DAZN and Riyadh Season decided to suddenly charge it's subscribers an additional $19.95 to see the undercard of Beterbiev/Bivol and how he believes it constitues fraud.
Dan also has takes on two separate Japanese world title shows both Saturday and Sunday, including title wins for Seiya Tsutsumi and Kenshiro Teraji won their bouts. And, Masamichi Yabuki knocks out Sivenathi Nontshinga for the WBC 108 lb. title.
There's fight news on the Rafael Espinoza rematch date with Robeisy Ramirez and where? And, also where will we see prominentl featherweight contender Bruce "Shu Shu" Carrington fight again before the end of the year?
Finally, some good nostalgia on the annivesary of Nonito Donaire getting a title win 12 years ago that helped make him the fighter of the year. And, Dan was ringside for a co-feature fight that turned out to be very memorable with Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado. And, we conclude with Mike Tyson Nostalgia from 2001 and him traveling to another country to wipe out their top fighter and setup his mega-bout with Lennox Lewis.
