It's a light weekend of action in the ring, but we have a future hall of famer with us, as Canelo Alvarez talks to Dan one on one. And, there's some fight news and some Erik Morales and dubious Mike Tyson nostalgia, as well on the "Big Fight Weekend Preview Podcast."
Host T.J. Rives is back with insider Dan Rafael of BigFightWeekend.com to give their takes.
The guys talk first about the latest KO win by Naoya Inoue this past Tuesday in defense of his undisputed 122 lb. titles. How did he look vs. Ireland's T.J. Doheny and more importantly, how soon is he back in the ring? Dan gives his insights on it all.
The guys then briefly talk the action this weekend which actually has a world title fight between WBA strawweight champ Thammanoon Niyomtrong of Thailand defends in Austrailia against relatively new pro Alex Winwood. Winwood is looking to make Aussie history by winning a world title in just his 5th pro fight. We go over it.
Then, hear Dan with Canelo, as he readies to battle unbeaten Edgar Berlanga in a 12 round PPV next Saturday night. Canelo talks his training camp, the legendary "Mexico vs. Puerto Rico" rivalry fights and more.
There's news on Jaron "Boots" Ennis' promoter Matchroom boxing actually LOSING the purse bid for his mandatory fight with Karen Chukhadzhian. Now what? Plus, more on the upcoming Rafael Espinoza vs. Robeisy Ramirez featherweight title rematch and some official fight announcements on on Tim Tszyu and Keyshawn Davis' next bouts upcoming this Fall.
Finally, we have Erik Morales anniversary nostalgia on his first title win and the suspicious Mike Tyson first round KO of Bruce Seldon this weekend in 1996, too. The guys have their takes.
