Well, after taking an unexpected vacation from Movie Complex to hang out with family for the holiday, I didn’t post a video for the first time in 2 years. It was weird and I don’t know if I’ll ever do it again, but it was really needed. Anyways,

Paper Tigers is a martial arts comedy-drama about three middle-aged kungfu prodigies that set out to avenge the murder of their master.

I came across this film by accident on Netflix and I’m really glad I did. I’m a big kungfu-head if you guys didn’t know, and I’m a big fan of the Golden era of Kungfu films. This film is an instant call back or homage to those Golden era films. I just found out that the producer of the film is Yuji Okumoto an actor for the films Karate Kid Part 2 and Cobra Kai, and that’s what this movie feels like. It feels like an honest love letter to Karate Kid and martial arts films. And you know what? I’m here for it.
