"If I Were You: A Psychologist Puts Himself on the Couch" by Peter Quarry is a 'psychological memoir' that captured the imagination of Tim in early 2023. Joining David and Tim in this episode is the author of a book that effectively exemplifies the response to the Socratic phrase: "The unexamined life is not worth living." Peter describes his fascinating life in his book through a series of letters, comparable to that of Marcus Aurelius. In the tradition of a Socratic dialogue, Tim and David ask curious questions about the origins and best practices of a life review and talk to Peter about his learnings from writing the book.
