On this week's episode of the Blogged Podcast, we’re sitting down with Collectively Co-Founders Ryan Stern and Alexa Tonner to talk all about influencer marketing from an agency perspective.

They share the story of how they started Collectively, some advantages for working with an agency as a blogger, and amazing insights into the influencer marketing industry – including how they’ve seen it change and tips for excelling as an influencer in today’s market.

Ryan Stern is Collectively’s Co-founder and CEO. Her passion for the independent, digital creative community began in 2004 when she began food blogging while working full time as an editor at the Los Angeles Times and Architectural Digest.

She moved into marketing in 2007 at a food media startup and has since been focused on the intersection of social content and advertising…leading influencer marketing & content teams at Federated and Mode Media before launching Collectively in 2013. She was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Marketing & Advertising at the 2015 Stevie Awards. Her work for clients has been recognized with wins in the OMMA Awards, Webby Awards, Effies, and WOMMYs.

Alexa Tonner is the Co-founder and EVP at Collectively. Alexa is passionate about helping brands navigate and master the world of influencer marketing and has built a strategic, multi-disciplinary team to help clients succeed.

Prior to co-founding Collectively in 2013, Alexa managed influencer communities and brand-influencer partnerships for ad networks, including Mode Media, Federated Media, and Foodbuzz. In addition to her work at Collectively earning awards at the OMMAs, WOMMYs, Effies, Pearl and Echo Awards, she was also named to the SF Egoist's 32 under 32 and has contributed to media conversations about the state of marketing in publications including The Wall Street Journal, WWD, and Digiday.
