Shamus Toomey, Editor in Chief and co-founder of Block Club Chicago, joins Bob Sirott to share the latest Chicago neighborhood stories. Shamus has details on:

Music Box Undergoing Major Renovation This Summer For Its 95th Anniversary: The historic movie theater will be closed Aug. 12-Sept. 5 for repairs and facility upgrades, including improved lighting and new seats with cupholders.

Some Foxtrot Locations Could Reopen This Summer, Founder Says: Foxtrot founder Mike LaVitola is leading the revival of the upscale market under a new company with an old investor, according to Crain’s Chicago.

Angelic Organics Farm, Popular CSA Serving Chicago, Suddenly Closes After Farmer’s Stroke: John “Farmer John” Peterson’s community-based farm in Caledonia will have its final harvest this summer after 34 years — much to the dismay of his customers, the majority of whom are in the Chicago area.

Chicago Could Start Plowing The Sidewalks Under Pilot Program: The pilot program launching in late 2025 and would target specific “zones” throughout the city. If the initiative moves forward, Chicago would be the largest city in the U.S. to pilot a sidewalk plowing program.
