Michael Bradshaw opens up about the way they do things at their very successful shop in Hickory, NC - K&M Collision. He taught a class on how to stop estimating and start repair planning. He feels that people lack a thorough repair process at every level so he shared how K&M does things.
Some things he shares:
- They have verification processes in place so the next person in the process is responsible for signing off on the previous process. This creates a check point as the vehicle goes through the repair.
- They also have 150-200 photos of the vehicle through the process for verification, any issues, etc.
- K&M sells on the repair process and doesn't do "estimates"
- They communicate and educate the customer on the repair
Their process that they do not deviate on is:
1) check-in the vehicle
2) pre-measuring the suspension
3) performing the pre-scan
4) map the vehicle
5) complete disassembly of the vehicle
