As the Thanksgiving Holiday approaches people across the United States go into Holiday preparation mode. Travel plans, shopping lists, food, drink and entertainment are all elements of this modern tradition. But why? Why should anyone put all this effort into various observances in the days and weeks to come? Of course, many of these observances are sanctioned and even observed by the government of the United States, which may be enough to compel some to participate. Again, Why? Why sanctioned by the government, the church or anyone? Or does it even matter? The questions abound surrounding Thanksgiving and the upcoming Holiday Season.
