In 1997, Mike Tyson ate Evander Holyfield’s head. Joe was in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, being as smart as a fruit fly and liking Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You.” Rob was in Texas, falling in love with Jewel Staite and clinging to fantasies about child stardom and a promising future. In this episode, we remember being those lost boys inside a context that includes Men in Black, Roseanne, gun control legislation, Andrew Cunanan, and questions about what doctors should do when patients want to die. We talk about how Evander Holyfield’s love for Jesus helped him punch people and how Mike Tyson was (is) a fragile human being.
