Anne Miltenburg is a Dutch brand developer who has dedicated her career leveraging the power of 'brand' to advance ideas, products and services for social and environmental change.

After a storied career as a designer, strategist and creative director at world renowned agencies Studio Dumbar, Lava and Interbrand, Anne left the agency world to found BrandThechange, an educational organization that trains changemakers in brand thinking skills from Nairobi, Kenya.

The tools and brand resources that Anne and her team create for their learners are made available to all, such as Brand The Change, the guidebook, and the Brand Thinking Canvas.
In this episode, she tells me why she decided to found an education company instead of an agency to address branding for social change. She also explains why we should separate purpose-marketing from purpose-led brands. Anne also shares what has living in Africa taught her about branding and design

Anne's writing has appeared in Forbes, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Eye, amongst others.

Besides her roles as CEO of Brand The Change, she is a consultant to African social impact brands like Internet of Elephants, Shujaaz Inc, and Flutterwave.
