Hello and welcome back to Breakfast with Mom.
Today I want to tell you about the Teapot Dome Scandal. The Teapot Dome Scandal was a major political scandal in the United States during the 1920s. It centered around the secret leasing of federal oil reserves, including the Teapot Dome oil field in Wyoming, and two other fields in California, to private oil companies without competitive bidding. The scandal was a significant example of government corruption and corporate influence on the U.S. government. The scandal came to light when investigative journalists and political opponents exposed the corrupt dealings.
cranberry sauce

Ingredients

12 ounces cranberries (rinsed and dried)

1 cup white sugar

1 cup fresh squeezed orange juice

Directions: Dissolve sugar in the orange juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the cranberries and cook until they start to pop, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and place sauce in a bowl. It will thicken as it cools. You can even make this a day ahead and place in the fridge after it has come to room temperature.

Extra step: from here you can add orange zest to the top to make it more festive.
