Today’s top story is the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing.

Now, we haven’t talk about the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing for quite some time,

but we recently ran into Melanie Green, Vice President and Provost of the college of nursing and

had a conversation about the college.

We started our conversation with Melanie on the RN to BSN program

the Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing offers today.

Here’s Melanie…

………………Clip on RN to BSN Program……………

We then took the conversation toward the benefit of receiving a BSN degree.

…………Clip on Benefits of the program………………….

Finally we turned the conversation to what it is that distinguished the college from every other nursing school in Richmond…the Bon Secours mission.

……..Clip on Mission……………..

Here’s some interesting facts about Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing.

Did you know that the college retains 96% of our student in our program?

Meaning from the time they enter to the time they graduate…96%.

The average of most other nursing schools is somewhere around 70%.

And according to Melanie, Bon Secours tends to hire 85 to 90 % of those graduates who go on to exhibit long term loyalty to Bon Secours.

Why? We believe it has a direct link the the Mission of Bon Secours.

So yes, Mission matters.

Well that’s it for this week. Stay tuned to this portal for future up to the minute information on these and other stories on BSN Headline News. I’m Dave Schlachter. Thanks for joining us.
