I’ve always thought of nursing as a caring field. One that required a gentle disposition and heart of gold. What I didn’t know was how physically demanding the work would be. Running around the OR as a circulator, standing & retracting all day at the surgical field, even supporting staff all day as either a float nurse or an anesthesia nurse.
With time, you get use to the physical demands, but you eventually notice something else. Something heavier than mere feelings of being physically tired. It’s an exhaustion of your spirit.
In this episode I talk about daily challenges that often strain nursing practices. Lack of equipment, staff shortages and ways we sacrifice our personal care in order to compensate. Shedding light on the darkness caused by unknown exhaustion is the first step in building a better tomorrow.
If you are interested in experiencing how nurse coaching can help you build a better future, please contact me to schedule your discovery call. As a Board Certified Nurse Coach I am passionate about helping others stop struggling and start succeeding.
