"Learning how to be your own parent"

Something I want to share is that anxiety and overthinking is a common thing for me. It doesn't mean you wont be able to achieve big things or have big dreams.

In this episode I talk about how I have managed overthinking and my inner child response when it come to something that I have no control over. Because my first automatic response it to go into a tantrum and not be able to handle anything. That does not support me at all. But I share how I was able to move on and keep going and now allow the overwhelm to get me.

In this episode we touch on:

  • do you have a "critical parent" in your head
  • How to be your own parent
  • How to manage your first response from overthinking

  1. Manage what you can control
  2. Feel your feelings
  3. Speak out loud or onto a page your feelings
  4. Ask yourself is that really true
  5. What is in your control and what’s not

Takeaway + Action: Your automatic response might never go away. It is what you do after to re-regulate and manage the situation that counts. As yourself and journal about what you can control and what you cant.
