We have hit November, can you fucking believe it?! In this week's Sound Bite episode, Chloe and Holly sit down...without a beverage!...(Holly's pregnancy indigestion was REAL that day) and have a chat about when (if ever) to do a "freebie". i.e. A voiceover job free of charge.
They chat about some of the mental inconsistencies in personally justifying an 'acting' freebie as being OK, compared to a 'voiceover' freebie. Where does the difference come from? Does everything come down to how you see yourself/your worth placed, in terms of $$? It's definitely a thought-provoker!
The ladies dive deeper into some strategies they have used to help communicate their worth, as well as touching briefly on charity work and pay to play sites.
What do you think? How would you advocate for yourself? What strategies do you have in place for such situations? Have you got experience with pay to play and other talent sites? Reach out to us with your thoughts, we'd LOVE to hear from you.
The lady Chloe mentions who is an advocate for defence partners is Julia from @thehomepostau
