This week we close out a much beloved modern horror trilogy with Ti West's X Trilogy's conclusion MaXXXine (2024). We discuss the our own divisive expectations for this conclusion by linking back to the common themes within X and Pearl.

We look at the positives and negatives of this concluding chapter and how it relates to the previous films in the trilogy. We look at the homage of 80's films and culture including the Giallo Italian horror influences, video nasties and snuff films. We consider the impact of Mia Goth across the 3 films and how her performance and the script have changed for better or worse.

So grab your gun, get some eyeliner on those Bettys Davis eyes, put on them stiletto's and for the love of God men tuck them nuts in when you lie naked on the ground because Maxine and the Cast Me To Hell boys are going on a journey together and it involving kicking ass, taking names and crushing nuts!

Come and tell us your thoughts on Maxxine and the X trilogy @cmthpodcast on Twitter (X) and Instagram.
