Recent studies have suggested that a short course of antibiotics, compared to longer durations, are just as efficacious for many common infections. The appropriate duration of urinary tract infections for men, by definition complicated, is uncertain due to the risk of developing secondary prostatitis. A new study evaluates 7 vs 14 days of antibiotic treatment of UTIs in men without fever.
