After the dark story of last week's film (High Rise) we need something light and fluffy, a palate cleanser if you will. Do we find it in this coming-of-age story set in small town Virginia circa 1982? Maybe? When Jim(Rainn Wilson) retires from the Air Force and moves to a small town he throws the entire family into chaos. Jeanne(Patricia Arquette) must become the breadwinner after years of being at home, and daughter Aurelie(Kira Mclean) finds that fitting in is made impossible because of a botched permanent leaving her looking like "a poodle that licked a light socket."
