Episode 88 is not the literary feast you might expect from one Bram Stoker. It’s more of a pickled worm feast with dancing and kilts and monobrows. Well, that’s just the party scene, but “The Lair of the White Worm” deviates from the source material in many good ways. In fact, considering that this movie is largely considered obscure, your hosts would like to let all who would listen that it’s quite good! Richard would also like to let all who would listen know that it’s exceptionally immoral to eat an octopus. They are simply too intelligent. Will wants to know if any futurists ever predicted the popularity of giant beards and backpacks. And adult coloring books. That’s not important, though. We have plastic discs containing moving pictures nowadays, and on one of those discs are Amanda Donohoe, Hugh Grant and Peter Capaldi. Most importantly Amanda Donohoe. Yes, she ends up naked, painted blue and having fangs, in case you were wondering. Your checklist is almost complete! Then there’s Hugh Grant in a kilt, sporting a monobrow. Check and check! So, if you think you’ve seen it all, get your snake eyes on this one and tell us how you liked it! We’ll be down the road at the Aristocratic Twit, having a pint, waiting for the crowd from The Stammering Dork to make their way by.
