In the town where we weren’t born
Lived some dudes who watched movies
And they told you opinions
About Yellow Submarine!
Join us for a marvelous journey full of music, Blue Meanies, the Dreadful Flying Glove, a Sea of Time, a Sea of Monsters, a Sea of Holes, a Nowhere Man, a four-headed bulldog, a lot of 60s psychedelics, and of course, The Beatles. It’s the animated music-filled classic, Yellow Submarine.
Cineppraisal is an audio commentary podcast, designed to be played alongside the movies we talk about. During the beginning of the episode, we will mention sync points to help match up our audio with the film.

Yellow Submarine was directed by George Dunning and released in 1968 by Apple Films. The animation was directed by Robert Balser, George Dunning, and Jack Stokes. The live-action footage was directed by Dennis Abey and Al Brodax. It was produced by Al Brodax with a screenplay by Lee Minoff, Al Brodax, Jack Mendelsohn, Erich Segal, and Roger McGough (uncredited) based on the song “Yellow Submarine” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The film stars John Clive as John, Geoffrey Hughes as Paul, Peter Batten as George (uncredited due to not finishing the role after being arrested for deserting the British Army, no joke), Paul Angelis as Opening Narrator / Chief Blue Meanie / Ringo / George, Dick Emery as Max / Lord Mayor / Jeremy Hillary Boob, and Lance Percival as "Young/Old" Fred. The film’s music is by Sir George Martin, and of course, The Beatles.
