Loss Of Dealz In Shannon Expected To Put Strain On Struggling Families

The loss of a popular Shannon discount supermarket is expected to put much strain on struggling families in the area. Dealz in the Shannon Town Centre closed its doors on June 21st and management had claimed it was seeking a new unit in the building, but Dealz Customer Relations has now confirmed the store has closed permanently. Plans were announced in April for Tesco to move into the units in the town centre previously occupied by Dealz and Iceland in the near future. Shannon Sinn Féin Councillor Donna McGettigan believes the closure of Dealz will come as a blow to local families who benefitted from the shop's low cost alternatives.
