Continuing our dive into 80's/90's culture and hacker history, we take a look at the Masters of Deception (MOD), and how the East Coast hacking group changed the game when it came to phone phreaking and early telecom hacking. In this episode, we not only cover some of the history of the group, but also talk about the so-called Great Hacker War, and how MOD directly influenced the founding of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. In addition, we look at the relationship between law enforcement, hacking, and the information security sector.
