Codepunk 057: The Cult of the Singularity

There are many who believe that science will ultimately fix anything. But is this true, and does it exempt us from the philosophical and cultural changes needed to shepherd a better world? In this episode we take at look at those worshiping at the altar of exponential growth in technology, and point out the flaws in their thinking as it relates to artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and other areas of computer science and biology. In addition, we take a look at the fear of artificial intelligence, the possibilities of another AI Winter, and what dematerialization is really doing to growth curves throughout the technology industry.
