About Nate Ripke

Nate Ripke is the Director of Commodity Standards and Development at the National Motor Freight Traffic Association, Inc. (NMFTA)™. With 15 years of experience in researching, developing, and applying commodity classifications, he helps lead the organization’s strategy to simplify the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC)®.

Nate began his career at NMFTA in 2010 as a Research Analyst and held positions of increased responsibility including Senior Research Analyst, Classification Specialist, Senior Classification Specialist and Member, Commodity Classification Standards Board.

In 2017, he joined the former less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Holland to provided strategy on how to incorporate dimensioners into the carrier’s shipment validation process. In 2019, Nate joined Old Dominion Freight Line to help standardize the freight inspectors’ shipment validation process and provide NMFC training to improve the customer experience for the nationwide LTL carrier before rejoining the NMFTA in his current position in 2024.
