Manage episode 407349970 series 3559599
Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria or RSD is an overwhelming emotional sensation that a person may experience in response to an actual or perceived rejection or criticism. It is a serious condition that can result in low mood and self-esteem and is not a person being overly sensitive.
Kids and teens with AHDH are much more likely to experience RSD than kids with typical brain types. ADHD kids are very emotional, sensitive, and aware of the feelings of others and their own feelings.
Being aware of the signs of RSD and understanding it's cause will empower you to help your kid through it by giving you knowledge and tools you need to assist them through managing it.
Be your child's advocate. They need you!
