Courageous Conversations with Sheree welcomes the co-authors of Adult 'N My Childhood Pain!!! "You cannot get over it; without going through it." Five of six very courageous women join Sheree in creating a safe space to share and to heal.

Tune in this week Thursday on 107.5 FM or WRUU.org to witness their bravery.

Adult 'N My Childhood Pain is an anthology of six women (Inas S. Bilal, Shanna Ingram-Jones, Chiletta Marie, Totisha L. Phelps, LaShonna T. Springs, and Inesha N. Thomas). Although these women in this book may not have the same story, they share the same pain. The setting of this book takes place in five different therapy sessions. Five of the authors are clients, and the sixth is the therapist. These courageous women have allowed themselves to relive their childhood traumas so that they could heal from the inside out. Experiencing life as a mother gave them a vast understanding of generational curses and mental health. Each author highlights how their childhood trauma has played a role in their adult lives, maybe by how they may have parented, handle romantic relationships, better yet, how they interact with people as a whole. Either way, their past showed up in their adult lives. In this day in time we live in, we have to stop going along to get along to allow ourselves to heal genuinely. To do so, we have to first acknowledge and accept the dysfunctions that have been buried deep down inside. We also have to stop normalizing the trauma and making excuses. The only way to make that happen is to go backward to move forward organically. These are the steps these women used to heal themselves wholeheartedly. This book is filled with stories you don't want to miss.
