Meet Doug Gourdon who is hosting The War on Cars podcast. Why does the car have such a dominant position in our society? Are we in a war? Doug is a safe street advocate in New York and talks about why we are so dependent on the car - especially in the US - and what we should do about it. Cars divide communities, makes lives more difficult for low income families and are even being used as weapons - not just for terrorist attacks but just as much for everyday road rage. But equally so the bicycle has proven very effective as a tool for protest, which has most recently been seen with Black Lives Matter protests in the US.
