This week’s episode of Create Space is a current events story time! So often, I find that I read about something in the news but I don’t have the context or the understanding to fully grasp what’s going on. Beyond that, it’s hard to know what sources you can trust, what’s true and accurate, etc. I often wish I had someone who could just explain it to me like a story… in a way that makes sense. That’s how this idea came about.

In the headlines recently was the Silicon Valley Bank collapse. Our expert guest today, Jason Forbes, is a risk analyst and has worked in the finance industry for more than 15 years. He currently works with Erste Group in Vienna, Austria. He has worked in English as well as German since 2007 in credit risk management, quantitative risk management, personal bankruptcy education, and consumer credit services. Jason holds degrees in finance from the United States and Europe. Jason and I discuss what it means for a bank to collapse, how it happened to Silicon Valley Bank and if we need to be worried about what’s to come.
