In this week's episode I am joined by Rachael Warne Roberts, a fitness instructor working with people referred for exercise and a lover of the outdoors.
We talk about:

  • where her love of the outdoors began
  • the power of outdoor activity
  • the mental health connection
  • connecting with nature
  • the accessibility of outdoor activity

Rachael is firmly committed to encouraging everyone to get active outdoors. No matter what your experience or your budget, the outdoor has something for everyone.

About Rachael Warne Roberts:
Rachael lives in Gwynedd, Wales and has been has working with people referred for exercise since 2004. In 2007 she was one of the founder instructors for the Welsh National Exercise Referral Scheme and has since worked with around 1000 clients living with conditions from diabetes to cancer.

Her classes can have clients with conditions from mild osteoarthritis to those recovering from quadruple bypass surgery and she has become adept at supporting everyone in working at the right level for them.

In the summer of 2022 Rachael had to take 3 months off work when she developed long covid so is acutely aware of how hard it can be to be active or exercise with chronic fatigue and how frustrating it is to have to cut back on normal activities.

Rachael is a mum, a dog owner and a keen outdoor sport woman and she combines these to make the most of the beautiful environment where she lives. She is also passionate about making activity and exercise accessible for all, particularly outdoors as the benefits of being in nature enhance the gains from activity.
