To wing it or not to wing it that is the question!

I can t tell you how many entrepreneurs I have come across that want to wing it in their business.

I mean, not blindly forging ahead and hoping that an idea will stick, but also, not creating a written plan of action that will help pace your business and it s growth.

In this episode Danielle Vincent creative extraordinaire is going to talk about how having written goals will radically improve your business, and your life.

Danielle would not be where she is today in her creative business if she didn t create the goals.

I want to tell you a little bit about Danielle, she is the other half of the Breaking Bath, badass soap company Outlaw Soaps. When you see her website, you ll see the create brand genius that is taking them and catapulting them to success.

She worked in a cubicle in the Los Angeles offices of The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). She lived in a concrete warehouse just East of Downtown.

Like all of us, there were things she absolutely loved to do Go to Lake Hughes and Joshua Tree that were a short jaunt from where she lived.

But

She found she had gotten in the habit/rut of waking up, going to work, coming home, going to bed, waking up, going to work, lather, rinse, repeat.

I felt like if I just had a little connection to the places I loved, that maybe I could be inspired and motivated to go there more often. Like if I had their scent on me, that I would be carrying a little patch of them with me, reminding me why I was alive.

And such was born Outlaw Soaps.

Outlaw Soaps is a way to connect yourself with happy memories, good places, inspiring environments, and, more than anything, to remind you to live your best life (thanks for that, Oprah).

I love Danielle’s brand (and I love her sudsy creations Hair of the Dog may be one of my faves.)

And, I LOVE that she embraces goals the way she does. You ll hear in our conversation that creatives don t always go the goal route it s more like flying by the seat of your pants.

Danielle proves all us creative wrong you absolutely CAN create goals that don t make you feel pinned down, out of integrity, or like you re headed into corporate culture mindset.

I just love creatives!

Life in a cubicle just doesn t cut it as for living an inspired, juiced life.

I hope you enjoy our discussion, and Danielle has a little something for you at the end! Listen for it.

Let s start!

Here’s what we talked about:

Danielle s quote: If you don’t know where you’re going, how are you going to know when you get there?

Let s talk about vision (I love this part) and how when you have a really clear vision it leads to all kinds of opportunities and potentials.

Who needs goals?

Why should we have them?

What do goals do for us?

Where do we start?

Talk about goal best practices so we can stick to them rather than bail.

How can small creative plan for big things?

Thanks for spending this week with me on podcast! I m lining up some more pretty inspiring guests that will help you jumpstart your growing creative empire.
