Why should you keep your best artwork for yourself? Not only so you’ll have something to leave to your heirs, but also so you can have your most valuable work at your fingertips to sell if need be someday if an emergency should occur. It also keeps your journey as an artist close to home for you to revisit and learn from. In addition to all of that, what if you have an a museum or that gallery you’ve dreamed of being in call you up for an exhibition and you’re not able to create new work in time? If you have kept your best works, you’ve always got an exhibit available.
