33-year-old Agnes Chappell was recently separated from her husband and three children due to her uncontrollable alcoholism when her mutilated body was found by a housekeeper at the York Hotel in 1962. With the help of hotel employees and fingerprints found at the crime scene, police were able to quickly find Agnes' male companion from that night, but her death was eventually written off as "self-inflicted".
