In Luke 5:12-26, the Gospel recounts two remarkable miracles performed by Jesus, demonstrating His divine authority and compassion. First, Jesus encounters a man afflicted with leprosy. Moved by the man's faith, Jesus heals him with a touch, commanding him to show himself to the priest as a testimony of his cleansing. This miracle underscores Jesus' power over physical ailments and His willingness to restore individuals to community life.
It took the leper great courage and boldness to approach Jesus. Do we have the same kind of courage and boldness to come and approach Jesus?

Next, Jesus forgives and heals a paralyzed man brought to Him by friends who, unable to enter the crowded house, lower the man through the roof. Jesus first addresses the man's spiritual need by forgiving his sins, then proves His authority to forgive sins by physically healing the man. The crowd is astonished, glorifying God for the miraculous events they have witnessed.
Do we have friends in our lives, like the four men who carried their paralytic friend, who will bring us to Jesus when we are at the lowest points in our lives?
We meet weekly at the City Centre Community Centre in Richmond, British Columbia. We gather for worship on the 3F! Everyone is welcome to come!
