Introduction

Em gives a pre-episode FYI – we recorded this before the white supremacist protests and killing in Charlottesville so while we do not talk about the events, we do speak to the major topic at hand.

Anna is back! Let the joyous songs ring from the rooftops.

Which is scarier… Scaramucci or North Korea? That’s a tough one.

Emily tells you the true point of Karaoke. And the point is not to sing well in case that’s what you thought. You are wrong.

Anna tells us about her surgery and all of the recovery efforts she’s been going through. She’s gone through a lot of pain but met some cool people that are also recovering. She shares her favorite book of the moment which is Mindfulness (Resource 1).

Anna and Emily are going to watch The Shining (Resource 2) together while she’s in the USA! We talk about the types of movies that do and do not scare us. Hopefully we do not scare ourselves into another dimension.

Serious Crap

We’re talking about skin color/race. Why do we get scared to talk about it?

Anna shares about her own experiences with being profiled in a store in the USA. Emily gets super mad about it and Anna has to calm her down.

It’s foolish and dangerous to believe that racism isn’t “happening” anymore. We can make decisions and choices that influence the culture around us.

Even though we are wired to notice the differences in each other, we are not hard-wired to hate. Anna drops some truth from Nelson Mandela. Everyone should watch the movie Mandelaas it offers a lot of insight into the major points of view about how to fight for civil rights.

Wrapping Up

Mental bunny trails. Does everyone do over-self-analyzation? We do it all the time. How do you control the impulse to look at your own thoughts, emotions and actions waaaaaaay too long?

Is Anna an extrovert or an introvert? The debate rages on!! What makes you truly one way or the other?

Anna gives us a wonderful quote and we should have been satisfied to end this episode but Emily just had to tell the weirdest story ever about a death mask.

We get excited to see each other face to face very soon and then say “goodbye!”
