Flight nursing is one of the opportunities you have as a nurse. It's a combination of ICU and ED with a step away from the typical bedside approach. Flight nursing requires many credentials and experience in fields such as ER, ICU, and trauma. As a flight nurse, you are the person making decisions and leading care based on the patient's condition; you have more autonomy than an ED or ICU nurse but also have a wide range of protocols at your disposal.

On episode 204, we would like to introduce you to Madison Vawter. Madison is a flight nurse with a background in ER, ICU, and Trauma. We talk about what a flight nurse does, how to become one, and how to build confidence.
