In this episode I speak with The Frank Rich. Rich, a renowned American writer who has made an indelible mark in both the theatrical and political spheres. He has been a celebrated theater critic for The New York Times, where he covered Broadway productions with witty reviews that lended to his nickname of the “Butcher of Broadway”. Making a pivot in his career he turned to contributing to the New York Times and New York Magazine as a political writer, offering insightful commentary on the intersection of politics and culture. He also wrote a book called “The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth from 9/11” about the Bush administrations action and reaction to the 9/11 tragedy. As if that’s not a full career he then turned to Executive Producing and consulting for TV and FIlm. His projects include “Becoming Mike Nichols” and “Six by Sondheim” which are great documentaries about broadway and filmmaking. And he produces shows on HBO such as "Succession," "White House Plumbers,", "VEEP," and more. He has such amazing versatility and creative vision. It was an absolute pleasure to speak with him, to catch up a little. He is so generous to give me this time with his busy schedule. He is currently producing “The Regime” starring Kate Winslet which will be coming out on HBO in 2024.
