He has authored and co-authored over 150 articles and books on topics including online journalism, participatory and citizen journalism, social media, and online gaming. His work has been cited more than 11,000 times by fellow academics. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including being nominated twice to the list of the top 40 most significant young scientists in Germany.
