I love myself a great story, maybe even find myself self engaging in a great true crime story (this comment is not shared by everyone on this podcast, this was vocalized with a tirade of curse words!), but not always. However, every so often we find ourselves stumbling across a story from headline news that captivates a community, a true to life mystery.
Maybe it started on the internet, or was catapulted to true crime folklore by a news story, or a podcaster...which eventually leads to the inevitable "Internet Sleuth" void, where no one leaves unscathed...no one is left feeling gratified or, really for that matter, safe and free of scrutiny. It would seem anyone who finds themselves either in the middle of an internet sleuth grind, or at the wrong end of it, will probably end up being insulted, dehumanized, and insulted.
In this episode we take a look into the world of internet sleuthing, the pitfalls, and perils that follow along with it. You may ask yourself, why would someone want to insert themselves into an active investigation, from the internet...well, that's what we are going to try and find out. So, Grab your laptop, pipe, and a nice cold glass of "my hopes and dreams will be crushed", as we take you deep into the mind of an internet sleuth...well, or at least we try...begrudgingly.
