In 2018, a movie hit the theaters called The BlacKkKlansmen, which tells the story of Ron Stallworth a rookie police officer who worked for the Colorado Springs Police Department who was monumental in an operation to take down the KKK in Colorado Springs in 1978! Excellent movie and a great true story!
In 2014, Ron Stallworth released a book titled the Black Klansmen, the book was re-released in 2018, just prior to the movie being released.
In this episode we tackle this amazing story, and dive into what it must have been like to take such a monumental task like this on. The bravery, courage it took Ron Stallworth and other detectives to navigate this task and take on the KKK. We discuss and analyze some of the films pivotal moments, and look at some intricate operational complications that might have existed when attempting to conduct such a complex investigation.
So, put on your favorite 70's music, grab a cool drink, a pair of bell-bottom jeans, and come on in! Anytime we get to tell the story a police officer who takes down a hate group, is a great time to make a toast!!! Ron Stallworth, what a legend, and a great story to discuss.
