Dr. Gerard Verschuuren has published a new book: Faith That Makes You Think.
In this book, he demonstrates that faith relies on, rather than contradicts, thinking. The Catholic Church, in fact, teaches that there is a strong relationship between faith and reason. St. Augustine could not have said it more clearly when he wrote, “Believers are also thinkers: in believing, they think and in thinking, they believe.… If faith does not think, it is nothing.” This goes against the slogan “Don’t think, just believe,” which gives atheists a powerful weapon to say the opposite: “Don’t believe, just think.” That would give atheists full reign, which they certainly don’t deserve as the book explains.
Faith That Makes You Think is specifically written for Catholics—fallen-away Catholics, lukewarm Catholics, struggling Catholics, would-be Catholics—for all those in search of the truth, as it gives life-saving answers to life-size questions.
