R.K.Narayan was an Indian writer and the King of short stories. He created a fictional town of Malgudi, this town finds its essence in every corner of this world. He once said “I can detect Malgudi characters even in New York: for instance, West Twenty-third street, where I have lived for months at a time off and on since 1959, possess every element of Malgudi, with its landmarks and humanity remaining unchanged – the drunk lolling on the steps of the synagogue, the shop sign announcing in blazing letters. The barber, the dentist and the lawyer, the specialist in fishing hooks, tackle and rods, all are there as they were, with an air of unshaken permanence and familiarity.

His work consists of Swami and friends, Malgudi Days, The English Teacher, The Tiger for Malgudi, The Guide and so much more. His stories have not aged, they are still politically and culturally relevant. To me his is a grandpa who told wonderful stories. Full of life and magic.

The Missing Mail is a story of a Postman. The Postman goes out of his way to help a family. Is he rewarded or is he penalised? Find out!
